Abroad Thoughts From Home

(with apologies to Robert Browning)

Oh, to be out of England
Now that April's here!
For whoever wakes in England
Finds, each morning, as he feared,
That the east wind's blowing with might and main
And the garden pond is frozen again
And the snow disfigures the hedgerow's brow
In England, now.
